Darkness and Light

Kabbalah teaches that it is only through darkness that light is revealed.
The constant paradox.

A period of darkness . That fits the current global situation of war.

Myself, as one of the myriad {{ there cannot be a concept of the myriad without the concept of the one, nor can there be the concept of the one without the concept of the myriad; And it takes both concepts of one and many to bring forth the concept of the nothing; Zero}} I smell death.

What does one do when the smell of death is running rampant?

One eats.

This is a piece of my peace

Israel Under Attack

Over the last week over 800 Katyusha missiles have been fired on
Israel by the Hizbollah terrorist army in Lebanon. For the first
time in decades missiles hit the northern Israeli town of Tiberias.
Over Shabbat a family that had fled from the coastal town of
Nahariya to their grandmother's house in the country-side was torn
apart. The grandmother and five-year old child were killed by a
direct hit from a Katyusha and the rest of the family were severely
maimed. This morning a barrage of Iranian-made Fagar-3 missile hit
the central train station in the northern Israeli port city if
Haifa. Eight people were killed and forty seriously wounded.
Hizbollah is preparing for an all out attack on Haifa in an effort
to hit the petrochemical plants there. This would cause a Bhopal-
type ecological disaster that would kill thousands and maybe even
tens of thousands of civilians.

After the missile attack on Haifa, the Israeli Rear Command ordered
everyone from Tel Aviv northward to be prepared for missile attacks.
All apartments built since 1992 are equipped with a safe room which
is designed to withstand conventional, chemical, and biological
attacks. Those living in older buildings were ordered to prepare
bomb shelters which are usually located in the basement of apartment
buildings. In the meantime, Hamas continues to pound southern Israel
with locally made Kasam rockets.

Please pray to YHWH to have mercy on the people of Israel! In the
Tanach we are taught that YHWH uses foreign enemies to punish Israel
for her refusal to live in accordance with the Torah. We have seen
the biblical pattern throughout history. First there is sin, which
is followed by punishment in the form of foreign attackers.
Oppression forces Israel to cry out for mercy and then YHWH brings
salvation from our oppressors. We can see this pattern throughout
Scripture, especially in Judges 2:11–22 and Deuteronomy 4:24–31.

YHWH, please have mercy on us and place in our hearts the desire to
worship you and walk in the way of your Torah.

Amen!

My personal comment is this - during these ' negative three weeks', which are being exactly that, the meditation is on the
tet dalet hei dalet - you have to use the gematria. meditation on the tetragrammaton goes to the gematria of using the letter preceeding. ya gotta use the proper connection.

for whatever reason this won't publish.

this is the 5th try.

This is from one of my Jew groups so that I can keep informed ant get data. I found it quite interesting.
From Arlene Kushner, in Israel.>

I have just acquired information of a most alarming nature from the Middle East NewsLine, the most reliable of sources, regarding the situation of the war in the north. Please! spread this information absolutely as widely as possible, especially in the U.S. Send this to everyone you can, put it on your lists and websites. If ever a groundswell of response was necessary, it is now.

The Bush administration is playing a good cop-bad cop routine with Israel. Bush is not taking phone calls from Olmert, but is saying positive things to the press. Sec. of State Rice is the one who is communicating with Israel, and she is putting pressure on Israel not to send in ground forces. The goal is a "ceasefire" in the next 72 hours.

Unfortunately, we are dealing with a novice, confused government that is lacking the essential part of the male anatomy (figuratively this applies also to Livni) that will allow it to mount a ground war in the face of Rice's objections. If we were determined to do so, we damn well could.

What is more, Steve Hadley, Bush's National Security Advisor, was in Russia two days and made a statement to the effect that the U.S. has no evidence that Iran and Syria are involved in what's happening here -- thereby making it a local Israeli issue. A local Israeli issue is precisely what it is not!!

The facts:

Even though there have been over 1,000 Israeli Air Force sorties into Lebanon, with airport, etc. bombed, the Hezbollah missiles continue to hit us. In fact, it's getting worse. Eight people were killed in the last attack on Haifa. Hundreds have been wounded. Residents of Tel Aviv are now warned that they may be attacked. Rosh Hanikra and the Golan have been hit. What is happening? Without a ground expedition, it's impossible to strike accurately and actually take out the missiles. Hezbollah is threating our stategic facilities and this remains a real danger.

There are other sources of major concern: The C-802 rocket that hit the Israeli ship on Friday was a sophisticated radar-guided weapon that comes from Iran via China. Israeli authorities were surprised: they didn't know Hezbollah had these. This means intelligence is lacking and we don't know what else they have.

The fact of the Iranian weapon makes even clearer what is well understood: Iran is involved here. Hezbollah is not a rag-tag operation, it is an Iranian expeditionary force. Israel is the canary in the mine, dealing with what the west will deal with in larger terms down the road, if no action is taken. Iran is testing the waters!!

In spite of talk in the last day or two (which I had duly reported) of an IDF goal of putting the Lebanese army on the border, the IDF is opposed to this. Putting the Lebanese army on the border without taking out Hezbollah strength will be counted as a victory by Hezbollah. The Lebanese army is much weaker than Hezbollah; Hezbollah will strengthen its forces behind the lines and then come forward to attack us again. Hezbollah strength must be removed.

Here in Israel, there must be pressure on the government to stay strong, stay the course, do what needs to be done to take out Hezbollah strength. This should be shared with every member of the Knesset.

But even more important is pressure from inside the U.S. on Bush; he is focused on the election later this year and needs to know that American voters are watching him now!!!

Please, call or write to President Bush:

[] Remind him that he promised to defend Israel if it is attacked by Iran.

[] Point out that this is exactly what is happening now.

[] Speak about his readiness to act in places like Afghanistan, and how this is the same thing.

[] Say that the U.S. will face greater difficulty down the road with Iran if it doesn't show resolve in supporting Israel now, because Iran is testing the western world.

Ask him to communicate directly and unequivocably to the Israeli government that it has the full support of the U.S. in doing what needs to be done to take out Hezbollah strength, including a ground action.

Ask him to acknowledge that our fight in Israel is also the U.S.'s fight.

Ask him to oppose a ceasefire before the job is done.

Phone calls are best, then letters (snail mail or fax), then e-mail. Do as you can.

Mini midrash on Parashat Pinchas:

In this portion more women are named than in any other Torah portion.

The portion starts with the naming of the Midianite woman killed by Pinchas was Kazbi - kad zayin bet yud.

then

From the tribe of Manasseh - descended from Yosef - Chefer's son Tzelafchad did not have any sons only daughters. The names of Tzelafchad's daughters were :
Machla mem chet lamed hei
Noah nun ayin hei
Chaglah chet gimmel lamed hei
Milkah mem lamed kaf hei
Tirtzah Tav reish tzaddi hei
each name ends with the letter hei.
that's 5 hei's. That's important. The Ari says that they are the 5 state of gvurah which descend to Zeir Anpin yet are not sweetened by chesed. I think there's more to it than that.

Then during the new census:
The name of Asher's daughter was Serach. Shin reish chet. I have to remember that cause I'm Asher.

Then
during the Levite Talley
The name of Amram;s wife was Yokheved yud vav kaf beit dalet. She fore Amram's children Aaron Moses and Miriam.

Then
the 2nd mentionion of Machla Noah Chaglah Milkah and Tirtzah.

I'm working on the gematria.
I can't spot the 3 letter root.

Something very important with the yud and the hei and the 5 seems to be going on. yuppers.

This email is from Miriam Ribner. She teaches kabbalah, a student of Shlomo Carlesbach.
FYI Tzfat is Safed.

Dear Beit Miriam subscribers,

We are now in the height of the month of Tammuz. According to Kabbalah it
is the time for the fixing of seeing. It is the time of seeing things as
they really are. It is a time to see through illusions, lies and deception.
Tammuz is a time of reversals. We think one thing is happening and something
else happens. Tammuz is the time of intense purification, when the old must
be relinquished to create the space for the new order. Tammuz is the time
of challenge, but it can be a great time when we know how to grow through
our challenges. Tammuz, the month that bears the name of a Babylonian god is
a month that has been traditionally a time of the greatest challenge for the
Jewish people.

Last Thursday, known as the 17th of Tammuz, the day that initiates a time
known as " The Three Weeks". It is known as the time of waiting. In this
year, we are getting a taste of what the Three Weeks are really about. Only
the month of Tammuz could contain such heartbreak, such brokeness. Many
negative events are said to have occured on the 17th of Tammuz day. Now we
will add to the list the bombing of our holy city of Tzfat. We will G-d
willing remember the Three Weeks as the time of the war in which the enemies
of the Jewish people were destroyed.

The enemy of the Jewish people is traditionally known as " Amalek". It
was the tribe of Amalek who went out of their way to attack the Jewish
people when they left Egypt in ancient times. The enemies of the Jewish
people are the people who can't bear to recognize that the Jewish people
have a spiritual, religious and historical claim to be in the land of
Israel. Amalek can not be bribed, they can not be placated, they can not be
appeased. I hope that this is finally becoming clear to people. Amalek is
ready to die because of its jealousy and hatred.

I do not feel that all Arabs carry the energy of Amalek. My heart goes
out to the Arabs who have been tyrannized, deprived, brainwashed, exploited,
and intimidated by the fascism of Islamic militancy. I pray that they are
blessed with the eyes of seeing clearly the truth. I feel their suffering
too and it breaks my heart. I pray that they be blessed with the eyes to see
clearly the truth and the heart to open the love that is available to them
when they do.

But we all need to learn from Gush Katif. When Israel gave the
"Palestinians" Gush Katif along with the nurseries to ensure a vital economy
for the Arabs living there, their leadership destroyed this industry. Rather
than building a viable country used Gush Katif as a launching pad for
sending rockets to Israel. This is an example of Amalek.

The Jewish people are vulnerable to Amalek, when they are not united. The
destruction of Gush Katif would not have happened if the Jewish people were
united. Now in this time of strife, may the heart of the Jewish people be
opened. When we are united, we are a light to the world.

As many of you know, I was on my way to live in Tzfat, but now in a
Tammuz kind of way, I find myself stranded, a little bit homeless in New
York. I feel that it is good as it helps me to identify with the plight of
the people in Israel. But, as such I do not have time to write too much to
the list, I am not on my own computer, but I write now to ask us to all pray
for the Jewish people, for the State of Israel.

It is a time to call out for the new order. We, as individuals, and as
members of the Jewish people will find a new order internally and externally
as a result of this intense time of purification. We the Jewish people are
now in a time of strife and sorrow, we are being cleansed as our own "
twins", our mirror image, the Arab people, but know that we, the Jewish
people will soon be in a time of great joy and all those who are attached to
us will experience this joy with us.

I include in this posting a report from Honest Reporting that adresses
some of the concerns regarding this situation. Love and blessings, Mindy

"SPECIAL REPORT - ISRAEL UNDER FIRE - DAY FIVE"

* * *

Dear HonestReporting Subscriber,

Israeli military operations in Lebanon are taking place in response to an
unprovoked border attack which left 8 Israeli soldiers dead and two
kidnapped by the Hezbollah. Since then many more Israelis have been wounded
and killed by over 700 Katyusha missiles that have rained down on Israel's
northern cities, including as far south as Haifa and Tiberias. Israel is
exercising her legitimate right to self-defense.

Please stand up for Israel at this extremely difficult time and support our
efforts (http://www.honestreporting.com/a/securedonate.asp) to promote
balance in the media, particularly as the volume of media coverage expands
so dramatically.

MYTHS AND FACTS SURROUNDING THE CRISIS

Myth - "Israel's response is disproportionate."

Fact - The definition of a "disproportionate" response is a subjective one.
The question that could be asked of any other country in the world is
simply: "What would you do in the same situation?" When protecting its
citizens, exercising the right to self-defense and responding to missile
attacks over a recognized border, most countries would respond in a similar
manner. After all, how many Israelis need to die before the world believes
that Israeli responses are proportionate?

Any civilian casualties in a conflict are, of course, tragic and
regrettable. Civilians on both sides are suffering. However, Israeli air
strikes on Lebanon are not intended to kill civilians, unlike the hundreds
of Hezbollah missiles that are targeted specifically at Israeli civilians
who have been forced into bomb shelters for their own safety. Israel has
even dropped leaflets (http://tinyurl.com/n37nd) on Beirut suburbs calling
on civilians to stay away from Hezbollah strongholds to avoid being caught
up in the fighting.

Israel has also been criticized for targeting Lebanese infrastructure such
as the Beirut airport. However, it is also interesting to note what has not
been targeted (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/738607.html). For
example, while the airport runway was bombed, other vital installations such
as the control tower were left untouched and Lebanese civilian airliners
were allowed to fly to safety. Transport hubs and bridges have been targeted
in order to prevent Hezbollah moving the kidnapped Israeli soldiers deeper
into Lebanon and possibly even as far as Iran, as well as to prevent the
terrorist organization being re-supplied with arms from Iran and elsewhere.

Many of Hezbollah's facilities and missile launch sites are located near
residential areas, such as the suburbs of southern Beirut. Terrorists hide
within the civilian population and use this population as a shield. Israel's
priority is to strike at the Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure that has
been allowed to develop in Lebanon.

Israel has, so far, avoided initiating a major ground offensive into
Lebanese territory and has barely used a fraction of the firepower available
to the IDF.

Myth - "Lebanon bears no responsibility for the actions of Hezbollah."

Fact - UN Security Council Resolution 1559 (http://tinyurl.com/q69xd) of
September 2004, which referred back to Resolution 425, called "upon all
remaining foreign forces to withdraw from Lebanon"; "for the disbanding and
disarmament of all Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias"; and supported "the
extension of the control of the Government of Lebanon over all Lebanese
territory".

Syria eventually complied with 1559 and removed its occupying forces.
However, the Lebanese government has not disarmed Hezbollah nor has it sent
its armed forces to secure southern Lebanon and the border with Israel.

In addition, Hezbollah is actually part of the Lebanese government
(http://tinyurl.com/r2hmy), which contains two Hezbollah members in the
Cabinet. The Lebanese government, therefore, cannot abstain from
responsibility for the actions of a part of its own leadership.

Myth - "Hezbollah is an indigenous Lebanese 'resistance' organization."

Fact - According to the Council on Foreign Relations
(http://www.cfr.org/publication/9155/), the Hezbollah:

"is a Lebanese umbrella organization of radical Islamic Shiite groups and
organizations. It opposes the West, seeks to create a Muslim fundamentalist
state modeled on Iran, and is a bitter foe of Israel. Hezbollah, whose name
means "party of God," is a terrorist group believed responsible for nearly
200 attacks since 1982 that have killed more than 800 people.

Hezbollah and its affiliates have planned or been linked to a lengthy series
of terrorist attacks against the United States, Israel, and other Western
targets. These attacks include:

- a series of kidnappings of Westerners in Lebanon, including several
Americans, in the 1980s;
the suicide truck bombings that killed more than 200 U.S. Marines at their
barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1983;
- the 1985 hijacking of TWA flight 847, which featured the famous footage of
the plane's pilot leaning out of the cockpit with a gun to his head;
- and two major 1990s attacks on Jewish targets in Argentina - the 1992
bombing of the Israeli Embassy (killing twenty-nine) and the 1994 bombing of
a Jewish community center (killing ninety-five)."

In addition, Hezbollah is sponsored, funded and armed by Iran and Syria who
use the organization as a proxy to fight Israel and to destabilize the
region. Hezbollah is designated as a Foreign Terrorist Organization by the
US State Department (http://www.state.gov/s/ct/rls/fs/37191.htm).

For more information on Hezbollah, see the following sources:

Anti-Defamation League (http://www.adl.org/terrorism/symbols/hezbollah.asp)

Institute for Counter-Terrorism (http://tinyurl.com/qdlgp)

Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center (http://tinyurl.com/ol9on)

Terrorism Knowledge Base (http://www.tkb.org/Group.jsp?groupID=3101)

Myth - "Outside actors such as Iran are not fuelling the crisis."

Fact - A number of analysts have suggested that the timing of the Hezbollah
operation is no coincidence, occurring just prior to the G8 Summit in St.
Petersburg. The G8 was expected to concentrate heavily on Iran's refusal to
comply with demands to curtail its nuclear program. A wider Mideast crisis,
provoked by Iran's Hezbollah proxies, has now moved to the top of the G8
agenda, thus relieving some of the pressure on Iran.

In addition, Iranian fingerprints are to be found in the current conflict.
The Katyusha missiles that are currently raining down on the north of Israel
are supplied by Iran. An Israeli Naval vessel was also struck by an
Iranian-made C802 missile (http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/738695.html),
killing four sailors.

Myth - "Israel continues to occupy Lebanese land, specifically the Shebaa
Farms area."

Fact - On May 24, 2000, Israel completed the unilateral withdrawal
(http://tinyurl.com/zzppf) of all IDF forces from southern Lebanon, in
accordance with Israeli government decisions and UN Security Council
Resolution 425 (http://tinyurl.com/zazvo), ending an 18-year presence there.

On June 18, 2000, the UN Security Council endorsed the Secretary-General's
conclusion (http://tinyurl.com/mncm7) that, as of 16 June, Israel had
withdrawn its forces from Lebanon in accordance with Resolution 425.

As explained by Israel's Foreign Ministry (http://tinyurl.com/z6xgt), the
Shebaa Farms area is not, and should not be, considered disputed territory -
its status was clarified by a number of United Nations statements following
the withdrawal of Israel forces from Lebanon in May 2000.

The United Nations views the Shebaa Farms area as Syrian territory.
Therefore, UN Security Council Resolution 425 - which concerns Lebanon -
does not require Israel to withdraw from this area.

While Lebanon claims to be the owner of the Shebaa Farms area, the UN has
encouraged the Lebanese and Syrians to negotiate between themselves as to
who is the rightful owner. If Syria were to cede ownership of the area to
Lebanon, then it is probable that Israel and the UN would then reconsider
the status of the territory. In the meantime, the issue of the Shebaa Farms
is used simply as an excuse for the Hezbollah to maintain itself as an armed
force in the region.

Myth - "Arab prisoners held in Israeli jails were kidnapped from Lebanese
soil and should be released."

Some Lebanese and other Arab spokespeople have defended Hezbollah's actions
as a legitimate form of "resistance" aimed at securing the release of
Lebanese prisoners held in Israeli jails from the period of Israel's
presence in its southern Lebanon security zone.

Fact - The prisoner whom Hezbollah is demanding, above all others, be
released, is Samir Kuntar, jailed in Israel since a 1979 attack in the
northern Israeli town of Nahariyah, in which he entered an apartment and
murdered three family members (http://tinyurl.com/jo2z6) and an Israeli
police officer.

Kuntar is quite simply a terrorist and a murderer who committed a terrible
atrocity on Israeli soil. Those prisoners held in Israeli jails captured
during Israel's stay in southern Lebanon are, likewise, held for terrorist
offences and due to the inherent risk that they will return to their
previous activities.

All updates to the Middle East war will be posted here.
Karaite Korner Newsletter #270

Second Lebanese War Continues

The eighth day of the Second Lebanese War is now coming to an end.
In the past few days since my last posting so much has happened.
Perhaps the most significant thing is that there are no more
illusions about this being a real war. The Israeli army has been
fighting intermittent skirmishes and terrorist infiltrations since
its foundation in 1948. This sometimes makes it hard to distinguish
war from routine life. The sure sign of a real war is that the army
calls up the reserves. On Tuesday the army called up three
battalions of reserves and two more are expected to be called up in
the coming days. This means we are really at war.

The Israeli army has been pounding the Hizbollah terrorists since
the beginning of the conflict. The Israeli air force has
concentrated its bombs on a southern neighborhood of Beirut called
the "Dachya". The Dachya is known in Israeli military circles
as "Hizbollah-land" because it has so many Hizbollah facilities
including their Command n' Control headquarters. Most of the Dachya
has been flattened by Israeli precision guided bombs, but it is
believed that some of the Hizbollah commanders are still holding out
in vast underground bunkers. The Israeli air force is also targeting
missile launcher spread out across southern Lebanon and around the
coastal town of Tyre. On Tuesday the air force hit the launcher of
an intermediate range Iranian-made missile called a Zilzal. The
Zilzal missile caught fire, causing it to launch and when it came
crashing back down on Beirut, the Arab rumor-mill reported that it
was a downed Israeli fighter jet. Later that day a convoy of Syrian
trucks entering Lebanon to re-supply Hizbollah was destroyed by
Israeli air strikes. Today the war escalated with small numbers of
Israeli forces entering southern Lebanon to destroy caches of
missiles hidden in underground bunkers. They are also destroying
Hizbollah fortresses built over the last six years since Israel
pulled out of southern Lebanon.

Despite the efforts of the Israeli Defense Forces, Hizbollah
continues to fire missiles on Israeli civilian centers. It is
believed that Hizbollah has 12,000 missiles of various kinds
supplied by Syria and Iran. Since the beginning of the war they have
fired nearly 2000 of these missiles on Israeli civilian centers.
More missiles fell today (Wednesday) than on any other day of the
war. Everyone living in Haifa northwards has been ordered to remain
in bomb shelters and forbidden from going to work since Monday. All
non-vital industries and services have been shutdown in the northern
part of the country.

Hizbollah is specifically targeting civilians and many have been
killed and more wounded. Yesterday (Tuesday) a man who took his
daughter for a walk in the park in Nahariya was killed by a Katyusha
missile and his daughter was wounded. Today two children ages 3.5
and 7.5 were killed in Nazareth. On Tuesday a hospital in Naharya
was hit by Katyusha missiles and today a retirement home was hit.

In my last post I talked about the theological explanation for the
Arab attacks on Israel. But there is also a pragmatic/ political
side to this tragedy. In the early 1980s Israel was in the same
situation as it is today. We were under constant attack from
Katyusha missiles fired by Yasser Arafat's PLO based in southern
Lebanon. Israel was finally forced to invade Lebanon in 1982 and we
succeeded in driving the PLO out of the region. After our forces
surrounded Beirut, the PLO agreed to be relocated to Tunisia on the
other side of the Mediterranean. In 1985 Israel withdrew from most
of Lebanon, maintaining a small strip of land in the south of the
country as a buffer zone. This "security zone" in southern Lebanon
was constantly under Arab attack, but it prevented the terrorists
from firing missiles on Israel for 25 years. In 1993 the criminal
Oslo Agreement brought the PLO back to Israel and the Jewish people
have been suffering from vicious terrorist attacks ever since. To
make matters worse, in 2000 Ehud Barak carried out a cowardly
unilateral retreat from the security zone in southern Lebanon.

The outcome was predictable. With a terrorist organization ruling
Gaza and large section of the West Bank and the Israeli army fleeing
southern Lebanon with its tail between its legs, the terrorists
received a very clear message: Terrorism works! They also received a
second message. When Israel pulled out of southern Lebanon they
literally withdrew from every last centimeter. This was carried out
under the watchful eye of United Nations forces which went along the
border with survey equipment and tape measures. One Israeli military
installation literally jutted a few feet into the Lebanese side; it
was blown up and rebuilt a few feet away. Shortly after these
events, Ehud Barak went to Camp David to negotiate a peace treaty
with Yasser Arafat. Barak offered Arafat 96% of the West Bank and
Gaza. This 96% was in the heartland of the Jewish people and giving
it away to the Arabs would have required ethnically cleansing
100,000 Jews from their ancestral lands.

It is doubtful whether Arafat ever intended to make peace. But even
if he did, the Lebanon withdrawal put unbearable pressure on him to
refuse Israel's offer of 96%. If Lebanon could get every last
centimeter, how could Arafat only settle for 96%? The pullout in
southern Lebanon forced Arafat's hand and led directly to the 2nd
Intifada which has raged since October 2000 until today. There have
been some lulls in the fighting but the war with the Palestinians
has not ceased for 6 years.

Ever since Barak's cowardly withdrawal from southern Lebanon,
Hizbollah has been building fortifications and amassing missiles,
waiting for its big attack on Israel. That attack began eight days
ago and no one knows if it will end in a few weeks or whether it
will last for years. The reason given by Hizbollah for attacking
Israel was to support for the Palestinian terror war by opening up a
second front against Israel.

While the pattern of history in the Tanach teaches us that YHWH is
using the Arabs to afflict Israel, it does not diminish the Arabs'
criminal responsibility for the viciousness and cruelty of their
attacks on YHWH's people (see Genesis 15:13-14 and Jeremiah 25:8-
14). There is also plenty of responsibility on the Jewish side. The
Oslo Criminals have the blood of thousands of Jews on their hands.
May YHWH judge them soon and in our days! Amen!

Mindy Ribner is giving a lot of pertinent data. She's well studied. Her group is on yahoo.
Dear Beit Miriam subscribers,

It has been my policy to not send postings related to world events or
politics on the Beit Miriam list. It is for that reason, that I along with
Rabbi David Zaslow and another friend are developing a website called " One
love Israel" to disseminate information and discussion in the near future.
As it is not yet operational and because of the critical times we are living
in, I take the liberty to forward a few postings from the Christian world
supporting Israel that I think would be interesting for people to read.

Our prayers and support will help Israel to secure peace for all its
citizens of Israel as well as for the Arabs who live in other countries. We
are once again seeing miracles. Israel has caught several wanna be suicide
bombers in
Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The army destroyed a missle aimed for Tel Aviv.
What a blessing that countries like Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt understand
that the enemy that Israel is now facing.

In the words of my teacher Reb Shlomo, "' If you hold on to Above, You
don't fall from below. " Each day take time to pray and make a heart
connection to God, say psalms and prayers and send our blessings to our
beloved homeland and her
people. I know that many people on this list do not like the President,
but we should thank George Bush ( call 202-4561111) for his support of
Israel now.

Here are two interesting articles
from the Christian world.

Thank You Israel
By Brigitte Gabriel

For the millions of Christian Lebanese, driven out of our homeland, "Thank
you Israel," is the sentiment echoing from around the world. The Lebanese
Foundation for Peace, an international group of Lebanese Christians, made
the following statement in a press release to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud
Olmert concerning the latest Israeli attacks against Hezbollah:

"We urge you to hit them hard and destroy their terror infrastructure. It is
not [only] Israel who is fed up with this situation, but the majority of the
silent Lebanese in Lebanon who are fed up with Hezbollah and are powerless
to do anything out of fear of terror retaliation."

Their statement continues, "On behalf of thousands of Lebanese, we ask you
to open the doors of Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport to thousands of
volunteers in the Diaspora willing to bear arms and liberate their homeland
from [Islamic] fundamentalism.

We ask you for support, facilitation and logistics in order to win this
struggle and achieve together the same objectives: Peace and Security for
Lebanon and Israel and our future generations to come."

The once dominate Lebanese Christians responsible for giving the world "the
Paris of the Middle East" as Lebanon used to be known, have been killed,
massacred, driven out of their homes and scattered around the world as
radical Islam declared its holy war in the 70s and took hold of the country.

They voice an opinion that they and Israel have learned from personal
experience, which is now belatedly being discovered by the rest of the
world.

While the world protected the PLO withdrawing from Lebanon in 1983 with
Israel hot on their heals, another more volatile and religiously idealistic
organization was being born: Hezbollah, "the Party of God," founded by
Ayatollah Khomeini and financed by Iran. It was Hezbollah who blew up the
U.S. Marine barracks in Lebanon in October,1983 killing 241 Americans and 67
French paratroopers that same day. President Reagan ordered U.S.
Multilateral Force units to withdraw and closed the books on the marine
massacre and US involvement in Lebanon February 1984.

The civilized world, which erroneously vilified the Christians and Israel
back then and continues to vilify Israel now, was not paying attention.
While America and the rest of the world were concerned about the Israeli /
PLO problem, terrorist regimes in Syria and Iran fanned Islamic radicalism
in Lebanon and around the world.

Hezbollah's Shiite extremists began multiplying like proverbial rabbits
out-producing moderate Sunnis and Christians. Twenty-five years later they
have produced enough people to vote themselves into 24 seats in the Lebanese
parliament. Since the Israeli pull out in 2000, Lebanon has become a
terrorist base completely run and controlled by Syria with its puppet
Lebanese President Lahood and the Hezbollah "state within a state."

The Lebanese army has less than 10,000 military troops. Hezbollah has over
4,000 trained militia forces and there are approximately 700 Iranian
Revolutionary Guards in Southern Lebanon and the Bekaa Valley. So why can't
the army do the job? Because the majority of Lebanese Muslims making up the
army will split and unite along religious lines with the Islamic forces just
like what happened in 1976 at the start of the Lebanese civil war.

It all boils down to a war of Islamic Jihad ideology vs. Judeo Christian
Westernism. Muslims who are now the majority of Lebanon's population,
support Hezbollah because they are part of the Islamic Ummah-the nation.
This is the taboo subject everyone is trying to avoid.

The latest attacks on Israel have been orchestrated by Iran and Syria driven
by two different interests. Syria considers Lebanon a part of "greater"
Syria. Young Syrian President Assad and his Ba'athist military intelligence
henchmen in Damascus are using this latest eruption of violence to prove to
the Lebanese that they need the Syrian presence to protect them from the
Israeli aggression and to stabilize the country. Iran is conveniently using
its Lebanese puppet army Hezbollah, to distract the attention of world
leaders meeting at the G-8 summit in St. Petersburg, from its pursuit of
nuclear weapons. Apocalyptic Iranian President Ahmadinejad and the ruling
Mullah clerics in Tehran want to assert hegemony in the Islamic world under
the banner of Shia Mahdist madness. Ahmadinejad wants to seal his place as
top Jihadist for Allah by make good his promise to "wipe Israel off the
map.

No matter how much the west avoids facing the reality of Islamic extremism
of the Middle East, the west cannot hide from the fact that the same Hamas
and Hezbollah that Israel is fighting over there, are of the same radical
Islamic ideology that has fomented carnage and death through terrorism that
America and the world are fighting. This is the same Hezbollah that Iran is
threatening to unleash in America with suicide bomb attacks if America tries
to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapon. They have cells in over 10
cities in the United States. Hamas, has the largest terrorist infrastructure
on American soil. This is what happens when you turn a blind eye to evil for
decades, hoping it will go away.

Sheik Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, is an Iranian agent. He is not a
free actor in this play. He has been involved in terrorism for over 25
years. Iran with its Islamic vision for a Shia Middle East now has its
agents, troops and money in Gaza in the Palestinian territories,Lebanon,
Syria, and Iraq. Behind this is this vision that drives the Iranian
President Ahmadinejad who believes he is Allah's "tool and facilitator"
bringing the end of the world as we know it and the ushering in of the era
of the Mahdi. He has a blind messianic belief in the Shiite tradition of the
12th or "hidden" Islamic savior who will emerge from a well in the holy city
of Qum in Iran after global chaos, catastrophes and mass deaths and
establish the era of Islamic Justice and everlasting peace.

President Ahmadinejad has refused so far to respond to proposals from the
U.S., EU, Russia and China on the UN Security Council to cease Iran's
relentless quest for nuclear enrichment and weapons development program
until August 22nd. Why August 22nd? Because August 22nd, coincides with the
Islamic date of Rajab 28, the day the great Salah El-Din conquered
Jerusalem.

Ahmadinejad's extremists ideology in triggering Armageddon gives great
concerns to the intelligence community.

At this point the civilized world must unite in fighting the same enemies
plaguing Israel and the world with terrorism. We need to stop analyzing the
enemies' differences as Sunni-Hamas or Shiite-Hezbollah, and start
understanding that their common bond in their fight against us is radical
Islam.

RAPID RESPONSE UPDATE

July 17, 2006

The day The Almighty chose to gather us in Washington D.C. is rapidly
approaching. I want to thank the leadership of CUFI for all their support
in this historic endeavor. I also want to thank you all for your prayers
and steadfast love for the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.

Over 3,400 delegates from all fifty states and Puerto Rico will begin to
gather today in Washington DC for our Night to Honor Israel banquet on
Tuesday evening, for the Press Conference on Capitol Hill the following
morning and finally for our Congressional meetings through the day on
Wednesday.

If you wish to watch the banquet on Tuesday night, you may do so on Daystar
at 7:30 PM EST or on the internet by logging on to www.cufi.org.

I ask for your prayers as people come from the four corners of our great
nation to stand in unity on behalf of Israel. One of our leaders shared
Psalm 83, which describes what is happening in Israel quite clearly,

O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still

See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads.

With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you
cherish.

"Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel
be remembered no more."

With one mind they plot together they form an alliance against you

- Psalm 83: 1-5

It is time that we speak with one voice on behalf of God's people, the apple
of His eye. We cannot stand by and do and say nothing as the enemies of
Israel attack her. We will be held accountable for what we do or do not do
for Israel in her time of need. The message we wish to send to our elected
officials and to the people of Israel is clear. Israel you are not alone!

The following are the Talking Points that will be discussed by the CUFI
delegates at the Banquet on Tuesday, July 18 and presented to our elected
officials on July 19.

I ask that you fax, e-mail or call your two Senators and one Congressional
Representative during the working hours of 8:30 AM-5:00 PM on Wednesday.
Please wait until Wednesday to communicate these ACTION ITEMS to your
elected officials so we can have a maximum impact on behalf of Israel.

Please note: The ACTION POINTS in all CAPS at the end of each Talking Point
are the statements you are to communicate to your elected officials. The
other information presented for each Talking Point is to make you
knowledgeable about the issues before our government that effect Israel.

Christians United for Israel

Talking Points for Congressional Visits, E-mails,

Faxes or Phone Calls

(To be communicated on Wednesday)

"For Zion's sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet,
till her righteousness shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch." Isaiah 62:1

1. Israel's Actions in Lebanon and Gaza

· Background. Israel withdrew its troops from its security zone in
Southern Lebanon in May, 2000. Since that withdrawal, Hezbollah has fired
hundreds of rockets and mortars at civilian areas in Northern Israel. In
early July, Hezbollah conducted a raid inside Israeli territory during which
they killed three Israeli soldiers and kidnapped two soldiers. Immediately
thereafter, Israel sent its troops into Lebanon to stop the rocket attacks
and free its soldiers.

· Background. Israel withdrew from the Gaza Strip in August, 2005.
Since that withdrawal, Palestinians launched over 500 Kassam rockets from
Gaza towards Israeli cities. In late June, Palestinians conducted a raid
into Israel in which they killed two Israeli soldiers and kidnapped a third
soldier. Shortly thereafter, Israel sent its troops into the Gaza Strip to
stop the rocket attacks and free its soldier.

· Point #1. Israel has the right to defend itself. Just like the
United States is doing in Afghanistan and Iraq, Israel must be free to go
into territory serving as a terrorist base to combat the terrorists who are
attacking it.

· ACTION ITEM. URGE YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TO USE EVERY
MEANS AT THEIR DISPOSAL TO PERMIT ISRAEL TO CONTINUE ITS ANTI-TERROR
OPERATIONS IN GAZA AND LEBANON AS LONG AS IT DEEMS NECESSARY. ISRAEL MUST
NOT BE PRESSURED TO WITHDRAW ITS TROOPS BEFORE THE JOB HAS BEEN COMPLETED.

· ACTION ITEM. URGE YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TO VOTE IN
FAVOR OF AN ANTICIPATED CONGRESSIONAL RESOLUTION BACKING ISRAEL'S RIGHT TO
SELF DEFENSE.

· ACTION ITEM. TELL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES THAT IN LIGHT
OF THE INCREASE IN TERROR AGAINST ISRAEL THAT HAS FOLLOWED ITS WITHDRAWALS
FROM GAZA AND SOUTHERN LEBANON, THE UNITED STATES SHOULD NEVER PRESSURE
ISRAEL TO GIVE UP LAND THAT IT BELIEVES IS NECESSARY FOR ITS SECURITY.

2. Blocking Aid to Hamas

· Point #1. Hamas is a terrorist organization responsible for
hundreds of suicide bombings that have killed over 400 Israeli civilians and
wounded thousands.

· Point #2. Since Hamas took control of the Palestinian Authority in
late March, it has shown no intention of transforming itself from a
terrorist organization into a legitimate political party and potential
partner for peace.

· Point #3. So long as Hamas refuses to recognize Israel and renounce
terrorism, it must not receive one dollar in aid from the United States.

· Point #4. The Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act ("PATA") ensures that
no US aid goes to Hamas or the Hamas-run Palestinian government, but allows
for humanitarian aid to be given directly to the Palestinian people.

· ACTION ITEM #1: THANK YOUR SENATORS WHO CO-SPONSORED PATA. THANK
YOUR REPRESENTATIVES WHO VOTED IN FAVOR OF PATA (SEE ATTACHED LISTS).

· ACTION ITEM #2: URGE YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TO MAKE SURE
THAT THIS BILL GOES TO A CONFERENCE COMMITTEE AND IS THEN BROUGHT UP FOR A
FINAL VOTE IN BOTH BODIES, AND THAT THEY VOTE IN FAVOR OF PATA WHEN THE
FINAL VOTE OCCURS.

3. Preventing a Nuclear Iran

· Background. The United States and its European Allies have offered
Iran an incentive package that would provide them with a number of rewards
in exchange for suspending their uranium enrichment activities. So far,
Iran has not responded to the offer and has said it must "study" the offer
until August.

· Point #1. The Iranian President (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) has
threatened to "wipe Israel off the map," and he has called upon his
followers to "imagine a world without America."

· Point #2. Iran is rapidly acquiring the nuclear technology to make
good on these threats. Israeli sources estimate that Iran will have the
technical capability to produce nuclear weapons within the next six to nine
months.

· Point #3. As President Bush has stated, an Iran armed with nuclear
weapons is simply unacceptable.

· Point #4 - For Senators Only. A bill before the Senate to renew the
Iran Libya Sanctions Act ("ILSA") will help deny Iran the funds it needs to
pursue nuclear weapons by allowing for sanctions on foreign companies that
invest more than $20 million in the Iranian energy sector. If it isn't
renewed, ILSA will expire this summer.

· Point #5 - For Representatives Only. A bill before the House of
Representatives called the Iran Freedom Support Act ("IFSA") renews and
strengthens existing sanctions aimed at denying Iran the funds it needs to
pursue nuclear weapons. IFSA passed the House of Representatives on April
26 by a vote of 397 to 21.

· ACTION ITEM #1: ASK YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES TO URGE THE
ADMINISTRATION NOT TO LET IRAN STALL FOR TIME. IRAN IS SEEKING TO DELAY ITS
RESPONSE ONLY TO BUY TIME TO BUILD A NUCLEAR WEAPON. IRAN MUST AGREE TO THE
INCENTIVE PACKAGE OFFERED IT BY THE US AND EUROPE AT ONCE OR THE US SHOULD
BRING THE MATTER BEFORE THE UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL.

· ACTION ITEM #2 -- FOR SENATORS ONLY: URGE SENATORS TO VOTE TO RENEW
THE IRAN LIBYA SANCTIONS ACT ("ILSA") WHEN IT COMES FOR A VOTE IN THE SENATE
IN THE COMING WEEKS.

· ACTION ITEM #3 -- FOR REPRESENTATIVES ONLY: THANK YOUR
REPRESENTATIVES WHO VOTED FOR THE IRAN FREEDOM SUPPORT ACT ("IFSA") (SEE
ATTACHED LIST). URGE YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TO MAKE SURE THAT THIS BILL GOES
TO A CONFERENCE COMMITTEE (ONCE THE SENATE HAS ACTED ON ILSA) AND IS THEN
BROUGHT UP FOR FINAL VOTE, AND THAT THEY VOTE IN FAVOR OF IFSA WHEN THE
FINAL VOTE OCCURS.
